Scolton Manor is celebrating VE Day 80 this May.
- 'Scolton’s Own War Hero' – a short biographical exhibition about Jack Higgon, the last owner of Scolton.
- 'Countdown to Capture' – an exhibition about how Jack Higgon became a POW.
- 'POW Life' – displays of artefacts relating to Jack’s time in Oflag VIIB and other camps.
- 'How to be Secret Agent' – activity pack including two quizzes to do in the house and some fun stuff to try at home.
- 'Make Do and Mend' craft corner in the Cellar.
- Displays of period costume and artefacts in the show rooms.
All included with entry to the Manor House. Normal admission charges apply.
'Escape from Oflag VIIB' outdoor activity pack available form the Manor House, price £2.50.
'Dig for Victory: Grow your own runner beans' activity in the Walled Garden on Monday 5th May and Saturday 17th May 1-3 pm. Tickets available from the Manor House. £3 per person. No advance booking required.
